About Study Abroad

University of La Verne students may study on six continents for periods ranging from a few weeks to a full year. Through the BCA Study Abroad or Council on International Educational Exchange (CIEE) students can spend a semester studying in traditional places like England, France, and Japan, or in unique spots like Jordan, Ghana, and India. La Verne also offers short term study abroad programs during January Interterm and summer where you can travel and study in Africa, Asia, Europe, and Latin America.

An ideal time to study abroad is during the second semester of the sophomore year the junior year. To participate in a semester program, a student must be at least a sophomore and possess a GPA of 2.6 or above. Proficiency is required in some countries but study in many countries is in English. Included in the costs of the programs are room, board, and tuition as well as orientation sessions and local and regional visits to historical and cultural sites. Programs have a director on site provide support. All courses taken through a La Verne-affiliated program are transferable for major, minor or elective classes.
