Matt Durant begins his 4th year as Head Strength & Conditioning Coach at the University of La Verne.

Coach Durant began his coaching career with College of the Canyons football in 1998-2000 where he was a part of 3 consecutive Bowl game appearances. In 2001, Durant went back to coach at Wingate University, where he was the assistant strength coach and the WR coach.  In 2002, Durant came back to La Verne as the Head Strength coach and assistant football coach.  From the summer of 2004 to spring 2005 Coach Durant traveled once again to College of the Canyons to work with Robert Dos Remedios as his assistant. Durant the came back to La Verne where he has been ever since.

Coach Durant graduated from La Verne with his BA and has a MS from Azusa Pacific.

Grant Woods joined the Leopard staff as the assistant strength and conditioning coach in July 2009. Following a four-year career with the University of La Verne football program, he takes on the role in the weight room as the first assistant in the programs history.

This native of Ontario, Ca, originally arrived at La Verne in 2005 and later completed his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration 2009. As a student-athlete, he was 3 year starter at corner on the leopard football team. .

In the classroom, Woods made the Dean’s List each year graduated cum laude.

In addition, he enjoys training for MMA and working out.
