On stage, in the classroom, and in the community, the La Verne Shakespeare Center promotes an accessible, contemporary, and relevant Shakespeare. Designed for the diverse audiences and participants of Southern California, the center is a resource for creative, educational, and scholarly activities. Through alliances with Arts organizations and theater professionals, the center produces a variety of Shakespeare programs and public events.
What Makes Us Special
While Shakespeare is taught at campuses across California and the nation, the La Verne Shakespeare Center is one of the few institutions in America serving high school students, college kids, and teachers ranging from K1-12, college, and university. It focuses on ways to make Shakespeare relevant and accessible to all. It is dedicated to education, the arts, and above all, making a difference in our local communities.
