Diversity is an acknowledged part of the University of La Verne.  It is highlighted both in our University Mission Statement and is part of one of our four Core Values (Community and Diversity).  Because our students will live and work in a diverse world, it is important for our university to have a clear plan to ensure an inclusive learning community.  Universities should expose students to a variety of perspectives and experiences, and research shows that the highest quality education is provided in the context of a diverse learning environment.

Given this, the President’s Working Group on Diversity has prepared an initial Strategic Plan for Diversity for the University.  This plan will work in synchrony with the University Mission Statement and the broader University Strategic Plan and will specifically identify ways in which we can enhance diversity within the University.

It is the goal of this web site to provide you, the members of the La Verne community, with access to the first draft of this plan and with information on the various ways you can have input.  You are encouraged to either download the full draft strategic plan for diversity or to read it here online.   We welcome the feedback of the community as we move forward in the development and enhancement of a plan for the University of La Verne.
