We have received complaints about some University emails (from students or other campus members) being sent to the Junk Folder when delivered to a recipient. To ensure that all University emails are delivered to the In-Box, OIT has added both @laverne.edu and @ulv.edu to the Safe Senders list in Outlook. For this change to take effect, you must restart your PC. If you want to do it manually or just double-check that your system has those domains in the Safe Senders list, do the following from within Outlook:
- In Outlook, click the Tools tab at the top of the screen and select Options
- In the Options window (towards the top under Email section), click on the Junk-Email button
- In the Junk Email window, click on the Safe Senders tab
- You will see an alphabetic list of Safe Senders – the top two entries should be @laverne.edu and @ulv.edu
- If they are not there and you have not re-started your computer, you can simply add them manually by clicking on the Add button
- If you have re-started your computer and they are still not there, add them manually and inform the Technology Help Desk at 4130 or help at laverne.edu.
Mac users can add the @laverne.edu and @ulv.edu domains to their Safe Senders list in Entourage as well, if necessary. If you are not familiar with how to do this, please contact the Technology Help Desk at 4130 or help at laverne.edu for assistance.
