Interfaith Leadership Institute

Are you interested in getting training on becoming a student interfaith leader, and then bringing it back to La Verne’s campus? We are going to send a delegation of La Verne students (expenses paid) to the next Interfaith Leadership Institute (ILI), which will be held in Atlanta, Georgia, January 27-29, 2017.  Interfaith Leadership Institutes (ILIs) equip students with the skills to engage diverse religious and non-religious identities to build the interfaith movement on their campuses. Students will train to be interfaith leaders who build relationships across identities, tell powerful stories to bridge divides, and mobilize their campuses through interfaith projects.

La Verne will send a delegation of 2 students. Selected students will have their expenses covered, including registration, housing and most meals. Expenses are being covered by Common Ground/ASULV and the Office of Religious and Spiritual Life. Please take a look at the ILI website and become familiar with this leadership institute. If you would like to be considered for our student delegation, please complete La Verne’s online application  below and submit it by 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 23, 2016.  If you have questions, please feel free to contact Zandra Wagoner, University Chaplain at

Please Note: This application is for students who are graduating no sooner than January 2018. This is because we want to make sure participants have enough time to share their newly gained skills with the campus community. Applicants will be interviewed in Late November. Please only apply if you are able to commit to the ILI dates listed above.
